What is a Nickel-Cadmium Battery?
Rechargeable Ni-Cd battery is one type of alkaline storage battery and classified as secondary batteries. It’s a battery that uses nickel oxide in its positive electrode (cathode), a cadmium compound in its negative electrode (anode), and potassium hydroxide solution in its electrolyte. They are designed by IEC 285 as alkaline secondary cells and batteries “Sealed nickel-cadmium cylindrical rechargeable single cells”.
